Love MUNofs way much. I'm the delegate of Italy this time round, and in ECOSOC. Drat Joel though, he took the human rights committee(Italy),which i thought was really interesting. The list of topics for each council are as follows:

1) General Assembly (GA)
a) Issue of forced labor relating to the Asian region
b) Monitoring the build-up of naval capabilities in the Asian region
c) Finding solutions to guarantee primary education in less economically developed countries

2) Human Rights Committee (HRC)
a) Abolition of the death penalty
b) Developing systems to combat child trafficking
c) Addressing the disproportionate impact of poverty on women

3) Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)
a) Universal access to safe drinking water
b) Reducing health risks from environmental pollution and hazards
c) Renewing measures towards reduction of greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere
The right of indigenous people to maintain control over their social and economic development

4) Environment Committee (ENV)
a) Combating deforestation
b) Development of Antarctic resources
c) Reduction of the world’s reliance on fossil fuels, with respect to sustainable development

5) Special Conference on Health (SPC-Health)
a) Malaria prevention and treatment, meeting MDG
b) Reviewing global response strategies to the threat of pandemics
c) Developing policies to tackle the illicit world trade in human organs

6) Security Council (SC)
a) Honduras
b) Iran’s nuclear program
c) Piracy on the high seas
